Obesity is associated with increased risk of asthma in children, study findings


Obesity children have almost a third higher risk of developing asthma compared to children of healthy weight, retrospective study of the United States1 have found.

"There are few risk factors that can be prevented from reducing the incidence of asthma but our data shows that reducing child obesity significantly reduces the burden of public health asthma," said study author Terri Finkel, from Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, Florida, in the United States.
