He was cold in the US Continental this week. Colder na Alaska, Mars (technically), and even parts of Antarctica, which are not as surprise because it is currently a summer in Antarctica, but it still sounds wild.
A new NASA (AIRS) Insect Insect Air Force on the Aqua satellite offers a visual picture of dramatic and cold mortar junk, showing temperatures dive to forty times below zero. The gif shows the phenomena that are responsible for the temperature that many US faces this week, called the polar vortex.

The polar vortex can actually refer to either one of the air pairs of pressure: one in the lower part of the Earth's atmosphere or a troposphere, and another on its head in the stratosphere, which is anti-knee rotation. The lower vecteg is a spinning air mass, a low pressure that exists throughout the year, and the highest one exists in winter, according to this recent paper.
The jet stream is a wind band that defines the border between the polar vortex of the troposphere and the warmer atmosphere to the south of it – the shape of the polar vortex. When warm air pushes to the north, it can bend and push some air arid to the south, producing this cool incredible temperature this week. The stratospheric polar vortex is usually tighter and more limited around the poles – we do not deal with it greatly. But when it is disrupted or weakened, it can have a subtle influence on the troposphere and may help trigger cold gases. However, the relationship is not directly, according to the paper.
As the behavior of the polar vectics mainly covers how heat flows into the atmosphere, you may wonder if there is anything to do with climate change. Scientists have suggested that a reduction in ice and sea in the Arctic as a result of human driven heat has caused weakening of the stratospheric vortex, or that it causes a # 39; The jet stream defines the edge of the troposeric polar vortex to further break the south, leading to more cold causes in the middle. But all this is still being discussed.
The AIRS map shows only the temperatures, rather than their own air masses. But it should give you an idea of this process, as well as the intense science needed to understand these strange natural events.[via NASA/JPL]
