Call this a DIY trick to save money or a whim just, Hollywood star George Clooney would like us to believe it’s made of different fettle.

He has also shown that he is not only good at acting, but also in a completely different field: hair cutting. The barber may be approved.

The star said he makes his own hair cuts with a device that has famously touched on infomercials.

In an interview on “CBS Sunday Morning,” the Oscar-winning actor and filmmaker said he has been cutting his own hair for more than two decades.

“My hair is really like straw,” Clooney said of her salt and pepper thick straw roof. “So it’s easy to cut, it can’t really make too many mistakes. So years ago, I bought a thing called Flowbee.”

“You didn’t,” said skeptical interviewer Tracy Smith.

“The thing with the vacuum cleaners and the clippers, yes. I still have,” Clooney replied. “My hair cuts take literally two minutes.”

Flow bee sales increased when a coronavirus pandemic restricted access to salon and barbershops in some areas, Fortune magazine reported in late March. But as Clooney told CBS News correspondent Smith, he’s been cutting his hair “for 25 years” and relying on the Flowbee.

The Texas-based product manufacturer did not immediately respond Sunday to a request for comment.

The device, first marketed in the late 1980s, has become steeped in popular culture: it spoofed in the movie “Wayne’s World” and was a punk line in “Glee” and “The Nanny” on television.

Stan Rosenfield, Clooney’s longtime publisher, said Sunday he didn’t know if Clooney was inclined to his own hair. Although the actor is famous for pranking his co-stars, Rosenfield said it seemed unlikely that this was one of his practical jokes.
