Changing lifestyles can reduce the risk of cancer by 30%

Change the lifestyle how to practice, eat healthy, give up the best to smoke and use alcohol reduce the risk of cancer of up to 30%, Dr Enrique Bargalló Rocha in Efe said.

"There are genetic factors that we can not change, but this disease is caused mainly by exposure to agents that are present in substances that are eaten, dried or inhaled. , so it's important to customize these practices to resist this risk of developing cancer"said the expert.

The National Cancer Institute (INCAN) mammalian tumor explained from Mexico, according to World Health Organization (WHO) estimates, the the incidence of cancer globally, it could increase by 50% by the year 2030.

In Mexico, cancer is the third cause of death. Only in 2013, according to INCAN figures, there were 195,925 new cases found 84,172 deaths.

In view of this, Bargalló Rocha said the best way to withstand these figures is to encourage research and promote knowledge and education in the general population.

That is why, in order to promote measures among the Mexican population that can reduce the chances of cancer development, INCAN, along with the Mexican College for Cancer Research (CMIC), today introduced the Cancer Prevention Information Campaign.

"People need to know that carcinogens are in substances that are consumed, drunk or breathed and, along with genetic factors, affect the development of a tumor," said Bargalló.

The campaign seeks to share basic prevention information, where the population is invited to access their first contact doctor in case of suspected cancer, as well as promoting education for self-prevention and reaching a convenient diagnosis.

The enterprise consists of five pillars that include providing information on general prevention, diet and nutrition, timely detection, smoking and hereditary cancer.

He explained that all the preventative factors of cancer, tobacco are the one that has the greatest effect in preventing the development of this disease.

"It's important to reduce or eliminate the use of this case of most cancer in the world," he said.

Smoking is worried because it is known that the population is starting to smoke every time in the younger age, while this product has increased in women.

In terms of hereditary cancer, the expert said that the learning population must identify risk factors.

In that sense, he explained that one in 10 people could be exposed to genetic develop cancer.

"For example, when there are more than two relationships on a direct line of cancer, when the tumor appears even on both sides (kidneys or breast) when the age of the presentation is much younger than that custom or when it happens In a rare genre, you may be vulnerable to, "he said.

He explained that preventing the main risk factors, as well as preventing many types of cancer, also contributes to reducing other types of conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, which is the first case and the second cause of death in the world.

The aim of this campaign, which is permanently active this month, is Bargalló, is the starting point in the country to reduce cancer in the coming generations.

"We know it will be a long-term job, but the idea is that the population from now on will be more informed about the risk factors that can lead to cancer and, above all, raise awareness of those who # 39; n can stop "finish. EFE
