Apple has released the public version of iOS 12.2, which includes the launch of the company's new Apple News + subscription service for magazines. The update, available for all eligible iPhone, iPads, and iPod touch, includes a thickness of changes, features and new enhancements.

Now that iOS 12.2 is out of beta of the end, we have an official list of changes from Apple which the final public release contains. These updates include the Apple News + subscription service above, but also include changes to remote Siri, Apple TV, Apple Music, and much more.

For example, there are new Safari enhancements that make it easier to find what you're looking for through search tips, and improvements to AirPlay which makes it fast and easy t manage your Apple TV through the Lock screen or the Control Center. There are even four new Animoji characters for those of you who use devices that have a TrueDepth camera, like the new iPad, iPhone XR, and iPhone XS.

Apple News +

  • Apple News + is a new subscription service extending the Apple News experience with hundreds of magazines and newspapers.
  • Top articles and magazine issues together with personal recommendations on the subjects that are most interesting to you.
  • Automatic downloads for magazines for offline reading.
  • Available in Canada, with free experience including Top Stories, Today's handbook to personalize, and support for English and French.

Safari

  • Website registration now happens automatically after filling in details with AutoFill Password.
  • Warnings now appear when unencrypted web pages are loaded.
  • Delete the support for the Do Not Track standard to expire to prevent potential use such as fingerprint change.
  • Preventing Intelligent Tracking now protects against cross-site tracking by default.
  • Smart Search Field queries can now be customized by clicking on the arrow icon next to search suggestions.

Screen Time

  • Standby time can be configured with a different timetable for each day of the week.
  • A new toggle enables apps that turn easily or temporarily.

Siri

Ask Siri on your iPhone or iPad to play any video, show, movie, sports game, or channel on Apple TV. For example, “Hey Siri, play Spiderman: Go into the SpiderVerse on Office TV.” T

Improvements and additional improvements to faults

  • Supports the Air Quality Index in Maps for the USA, UK and India.
