MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – We are now on a point halfway Movember.
Movember, or "No-Shave November," is an increasing tendency to raise awareness of men's health.
U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say men, on average, five years earlier than women. Prostate and testic cancer contribute to the difference.
Also, four in five who kill themselves are male.
The Movember Project recommends regular prostate exams for "specific age men," encouraging healthy lifestyles and suggests discussing mental health concerns.
Every month, the chief meteorologist WCCO, Chris Shaffer, has been growing out his face hair to help raise awareness.
Here is a link of resources that explains the background behind Movember, and the cases that they get.
