OverwatchBlizzard

This was a strange BlizzCon this year, one who feels like this would not have to happen at all, given the scope of the publications held. The biggest story about the incident was the cross Immortal Devil, the mobile adaptation of that series to come, announced instead Devil 4, game that's is is being done, but Blizzard is not willing to speak again.

All of this mess led to Activision stock to a bit, but I think that the current issues of Blizzard extends only one mobile game or another. I mentioned this in an article yesterday, but after being the market leader in tons of different genres popular over the years, in the current market Blizzard is increasingly growing irrelevantly.

Starcraft a Warcraft decided again on the RTS scene, but that kind of game has been in favor of eons now, although the fans are excited about Warcraft 3 remaster, which ended somehow as the biggest announcement of the show (which should tell you a lot).

World of Warcraft has announced a new park, and has always been a MMOs king, yet another long-lasting genre. Waw Her devotees will always be a core, and this is a game released in 2004, almost a decade ago and a half ago.

Heroes of the Storm Blizzard's incredible, and while he had his fans, it was too late for the MOBA Blizzard scene to help create, forever stuck in the third behind DOTA a League.

Hearthstone is still a king of CCGs, but it's still an incredible cost to keep up, and endless new expansions do not produce tons of excitement outside the hard crowd , which is less than a custom.

Devil has been a model for ARPGs, but this is Immortal mess has highlighted that and made the narrative about Blizzard turning his beloved series to mobile cash, fair assessment or not. Devil 4 creates excitement when it arrives, but who knows when that will be.

OverwatchBlizzard

Overwatch, The first new IP Blizzard in almost decades, hit the launch, presenting a new colorful new world of iconic characters immediately. He destroyed all of his new phase heroes shooting competition, but now he does not always add new characters and sell free boxes. It's definitely successful, but this type of regulator is currently its little island, and it's feeling increasingly irrelevant in the current gaming landscape, despite its initial success.

Simply after the years and years of Blizzard own the highest properties in a group of different genres, many of their offerings start to feel extended, continuing on in nappies , add or character characters only. Many of her / her genres were not behind her leader now in all the things they were asked for, and Blizzard not competing in which current most popular genes are in the marketing place.

At present, we are seeing a huge success:

Royale Battle Games (Fortnite, PUBG, COD: Blackout)

PvE looter games with spraying PvP elements (Destiny, Division, what's coming Anthem)

Spider single player, open world RPG, driven by stories (God War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Spider-Man, Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassin's Creed Origins / Odyssey)

Unfortunately, what is most likely to me is that Blizzard can continue to pursue royale battle trains, and whenever the series they try to force that genre come with his own title, that trend will already be on the decline (honestly, I believe it is ready).

OverwatchBlizzard

Instead, everything that I have said so far leads me to my thesis (talk about burial and lede), and I think that Blizzard needs to take a serious look at the regeneration of the Titan Project in some kind, and expanding the world Overwatch with a world-wide RPG, which is driven by stories / collaboratives, with at least some elements of spreading, leveling and a tree that is emblematic of the genre.

What I get constantly in my mind these days is that although I continue to love the world Overwatch, I have almost no desire to … play really Overwatch. It was fun for a long time, but in my heart, I'm not a competitive shooter person, and simply Overwatch ultimately it became particularly flawed considering the amount of effort needed to co-ordinate with a team that goes far beyond anything that you will discover Call of Duty, Field of the Battle or Destroy& Crucible.

To be clear, I do not say Overwatch bad or not just because I found it not for me. But I think Blizzard has a way, more potential with this world than what it is using, which you can see by the two broad hours of animated shortcuts has produced Blizzard for the game, plus all the comics and supplements. He has the potential to be one of the fun, motivational and interesting gaming universities, yet it's still completely within this hero's heroic framework. The most exciting thing I can say about it Overwatch These days are "AH hey this new event skins is tidy."

Once at a time, Blizzard was developing theoretically WOW – instead of MMO of the name Titan Project. The project failed, and eventually failed, as WoW did not need to replace it again and MMOs were generally outdoors. From that damage, Blizzard took concepts and art style and at least some elements of gameplay to form Overwatch, turning a disaster into gold.

And yet I want them to go back for someone else to go on. I can not tell you how exciting it makes me imagine to create myself Overwatch– Universe character in an initial screen, then roam around a huge, open world designed by Blizzard to cater for the concept. Certainly, this would be a way, unlike the current situation with every carefully designed hero with a closed package, but I think this could work. Blizzard shooting mechanics at Overwatch at a point, even in the limited PvE content they have Overwatch for special events. The world-wide framework for RPG is between all the conflicts and various websites, Overwatch, Blackwatch, Talon, Omnics, different gangs and competitions and the world that need to be saved / awarded.

This would be a huge project, obviously, not something that Blizzard can do in his leisure time, but again, I think something like this is needed. There are so many titles in maintenance mode, adding new characters and maps and very few. In the meantime, the rest of the industry influences the headings and charts with more relevant genre preventative statements each month.

I do not really know how healthy Blizzard is, as we do not know players accountant or revenue figures exactly for each game at the moment. But I feel that what was once tired in the industry is often considered back, and something needs to change.
