The National Bank of Ukraine expects to slow down the wage growth in Ukraine, forecasting a rise in nominal wages by 16% in 2019 and 10% in 2020. But in real terms, they will grow only 7% and 5% respectively. We are talking about this in the inflation report for October, which has been distributed by the National Bank of Ukraine.
It also shows that the average salary of Ukrainian citizens in 2018 will increase in real terms by 13%.
"On average, in 2018 employers will increase nominal salaries of 25% (or 13% in real terms)", – he said in the document.
At the same time, the NBU noted that the expected reduction in the rate of salary growth will be caused by a reduction in labor emigration density, low rates of increase in the wage and public sector wages.
In addition, the NBU stated that last year's salary increase was 37%, and it was anticipated that employers would increase nominal salaries of 25% on average this year, or 13% in real terms.
As previously reported by "1K.com.ua", now the minimum wage in Ukraine is 3,723 UAH. In the draft budget for the state for 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers set the minimum wage at 4170 UAH level.
