Two unknown men tried to set fire to St Andrew's Church. Reports about "Kiev Operative" on the Facebook page.

The event happened in the morning, about 07:20 on Thursday, November 15. It is said that unknown people throw petrol bombs into the church building, but they did not succeed in starting a fire.

"After the fiasco, the men ran away towards the Alley Landscape. Now the search for hooligans continues," the group said.


Recall Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine transferred St. Andrew's Church to the use of the Ecumenical Patriarchate for worship, religious rituals, ceremonies and processes. The motion was made to Senate by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, who signed the law adopted by the Rada.

At present, St Andrew's Church is the current church of Orthodox Church of Autocephalous Ukrainian (UAOC). However, head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Autocephalous Macarius said that Ukraine was giving St Andrew's Church to Ecumenical I'm patriarch.
