Sources told Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabas that “the Pfizer vaccine is the closest to first entering Kuwait in the second half of December next, especially after Pfizer and his partner, Biontech, applied the day before yesterday, Friday, to get an emergency license in the United States, to use the vaccine (Covid-19).

Kuwaiti health sources revealed to the newspaper that it is following the latest developments in vaccines that have begun the final stages of testing, with the aim of reviewing their results and the extent to which they receive official accreditation from specialist international health organizations.

He noted that the “Moderna, Pfizer, and Oxford-AstraZenica” vaccines are the closest to gaining the approval of international health authorities and organizations to begin regional distribution, among the 9 vaccines that entered the final stages of preparation for approval and licensing after clinical trials.

Kuwaiti media reported on Friday that receiving the “Corona” vaccine, if approved and arriving in the country, will be optional, not mandatory, for any particular group, despite the possession of Health Minister Dr. Basil Al-Sabah, the legal powers that allow him to compel any segment to take him.

The Kuwaiti newspaper “Al-Qabas” quoted informed government sources saying that a finding was being made about the target groups to receive the approved vaccine in the early stages of its arrival, excluding the obligation of medical staff and nursing agencies to receive it.

Yesterday, Saturday, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health announced that they were monitoring 426 cases of the emerging corona virus (Covid 19), in the last 24 hours; This brings the total recorded to 139,734.

The ministry also announced, according to its website, that there were two deaths due to complications due to infection with the virus, and 511 recoveries from the disease. This brings a total of 863 deaths, and a total of 131,560 recoveries.

The total number of cases currently being treated in Kuwaiti hospitals is 7311, and the total number of cases in intensive care is 84.

Kuwait comes in sixth place on the list of Arab countries for new Corona virus infections. And ranked 44th on the list of international casualties.
