Dubai Electricity Company reveals initiatives and projects ahead of US delegation

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director, Electrical Authority and Dubai Water (DEWA), Mr. Danny Sebright, Chair of the United Arab Emirates UAE Business Council, on top of a large company delegation of US companies including Accenture, Access Meretration, Cisco, Honeywell, IBM, K & L Jet, MasterCard, Parsons, PayPal, SAS Institute, to VMware.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director, Electrical Authority and Dubai Water (DEWA), Mr. Danny Sebright, Chair of the United Arab Emirates UAE Business Council, on top of a major delegation of US companies including Accenture, Access Meretration, Cisco, Honeywell, IBM, K & L JIT, MasterCard, Parsons, PayPal, Organization SAS to VMware. Both sides discuss ways to widen cooperation through initiatives, programs, projects and investment opportunities available to the Authority in the fields of energy and water.

Al Tayer reviewed the Authority's most important projects, initiatives and programs, adding that it has investments of more than AED 81 billion over the next five years to meet the rising demand for electricity and water in the emirate.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Shaker Farsakh, Commercial Attaché of the General Consensus of the United States in Dubai, and by HE Dr. Yousif Al Akraf, Executive Vice President – Business Support and Human Resources Sector; Eng. Walid Salman, Executive Vice President – Business Development and Excellence, And Marwan Bin Haider, Executive Vice President – Innovation and Future Sector.

The efforts of the Authority to deliver the United Arab Emirates Emissions represented by DEWA to the first place in the world in electricity access, according to the 2018 World Bank report.

The Commission also won the highest prize in the Excellence Model of the European Institute for Quality Management, becoming the first organization outside Europe to receive the European Institute for Quality Management Excellence Award. On its behalf, the Business Council of the European Union-Union expressed an interest in taking part in the leading projects in the field of clean and renewable energy and water.
