Fifa voter arrested on suspicion of pollution – SPIEGEL ONLINE

A judge of the Fifa Ethics Commission, Sundra Rooja, has been temporarily arrested on suspicion of pollution in his native Malaysia. The Football Association of the World rejected the ethics judge immediately. That was announced by Fifa on Wednesday. Previously, the defendant's lawyer confirmed that he spent one night in custody from Tuesday to Wednesday.

After Rajoo insisted on enjoying political immunity because of his main job as director of Asian Arbitrary Court, he was released initially. Rajoo, one of the two proxy chairs of the Fifa Ethical Committee of judicial panel since 2017, pledges to co-operate with the authorities in dealing with his case.

Fifa said a little later that Rajoo "will not take part in any of the Judicial Chamber trials immediately" provided that the investigations are against him. He had also given her up to the Asian Arbitration Court, according to the local media.

According to the reports, he is accused of abusing his situation in order to enrich himself financially. At the time of his arrest, Rajoo had just returned from Fifa's headquarters in Zurich, where he was assisted in a pollution case.
