New York Stock Exchange started the new quarter with rising prices. China's stronger purchasing managers index for the industry and optimistic sounds of the trade negotiations between China and the US strengthen trade.

Financial stocks that were sensitive to interest were among the winners, raising US interest rates. The promises of China over the weekend to refrain from rising tariffs on cars and photo parts published from April 1 increase car manufacturers such as General Motors and Ford by 1.5 and 2.2 percent respectively.

Each of the three leading indexes on Wall Street rose. Dow Jones' industrial index and the composite index Nasdaq rose by 1.3 per cent while S&P 500 rose by 1.2 per cent.
