SEOUL – BTS is the only K-pop act that enjoys a wonderful time in the United States. The Blackpink women's group has now joined the boyband – who sold their American tour last year – in securing a similar reception.
The forthcoming tour of six cities, with one stop in Canada, has sold 60,000 tickets for the April and May shows, with additional shows being pulled out.
The choice of Hamilton in Canada was disturbing their supporters in the larger city in Toronto, now driving away.
The demand is likely to arise further when Blackpink is performing at the prestigious Coachella festival in California on April 12 and 19, the first idiot group K-pop to appear at the event.
Although Blackpink is not currently commercially successful as BTS, the quartet – who has held a concert to sell in Singapore earlier this month – has beaten the bandband at least one record .
Their 2018 have reached one single Black Black Black has become the most popular video of the K-pop group on YouTube, with more than 680 million views.
BTS is right behind, with 2018 hitting DNA bags more than 650 million views.
