The Medicines and Serbia Medical Devices Agency (ALIMS) gave an emergency warning to doctors and patients about the loss of high pressure drugs.

Drugs that are widely used in Serbia, because they are given to all patients with high blood pressure and which include active substance hydrochlorothiazide can cause skin cancer that is not & # 39; n melanoma.

Enelapril, vivace, thermicol, korace, telmipres, skopril, iruzid, nebilet, mikardis, prilazid, losar, erinorm, kemokvin, hemopres, irbenida, prilenap, prilinda, tensek, janida, ampil, kazakombi, enap, lorista, tolukombi, valsakombi, lodoz, condiovan, monopril, enates, binevol, tritace, diunorm.

Cardiologists say that these drugs are often prescribed and warn patients not to give up the therapy without consulting the doctor.

Pavle Zelić of ALMIS told TV Prva that the drugs will not be withdrawn from the market and that patients should not give up therapy.

"The letter is a precautionary measure and has been published in Croatia and other EU countries. There is no reason to withdraw the drug from the market. Notice will be raised about the possibility of these very rare types of cancers, all of which are one regulatory measure aimed at being more cautious. Doctors and patients pay attention to the skin, "he said.

He noted that the use of medication continues because their benefit was great.
