Consumer Reports every year it surveys its members about the problems they have had with their vehicles in the last 12 months. For 2020, they received answers from approximately 329,000 drivers, for cars made in the period 2000-2020.
The problems that occurred on these vehicles are classified in 17 areas, from smaller ones, such as brake presses, to more serious ones, such as an out-of-warranty gearbox service.
After summarizing the results, it turned out Mazda the most trusted car brand in the USA, they hold second and third place Toyota i Lexus, and following Buick (a brand owned by General Motors) a Honda.
It’s interesting that the American manufacturer of electric cars is a company Tesla, the last but one in terms of reliability on the list of 26 brands (at the very beginning Lincoln).
Tesla’s latest car, the SUV, contributed most to such a bad situation Model Y, whose reliability “is well below average and Consumer Reports cannot recommend it to customers in any way”.
Model S and Model X are below average, but according to the survey results, this is the only reliable one Tesla Model 3.
