Crackers' radius varies more than ever. Tasty types are becoming more popular. This week, cheese crackers are under trial.
► Our analysis
There were 10 types of cheese crackers in the subject of this test bench. The product was labeled as a cracker and not a cracker. The referral portion is 19 to 21 g, or between 4 and 19 crackers according to the brands.
All services provide:
- Between 80 and 100 calories
- Between 1 and 4.5 g of fat (0 to 1 g of saturated fat)
- Between 75 and 210 mg of sodium
- Between 12 and 17 g of carbohydrates
- Between 0 and 2 g of fiber
- Between 0 and 2 g of sugars
- Between 1 and 2 g of protein
The best choices
y crackers and brand Triscuits stand out for a number of reasons. They are among the fat and lower sodium test boys. Fiber sources (2 g of the service), it is the only test bench that makes full wheat. Their list of ingredients, excluding additives, is also a significant added value.
If everyone is Cut cheese cake Interestingly, the four cheese and herbs tastes win the prize. With 75 mg sodium, here is the least salt / lot of salad. Showing 2.5 grams of fat (0.3 grams of saturated fat), they are definitely a good choice. And the flavors Smoke Gouda ac Roman cheese and honey also among the good options.
y Tasty rice compressors not injected have also been distinguished by their low fat intake (1 g), saturated fat absenteeism and the second lower sodium concentration (85 mg). However, we would prefer a much larger list of ingredients (please note the presence of sodium phosphate, sodium citrate, acidic acid, lactic acid, silicon dioxide).
► In a snack
Our best choices of cheese crackers can be a good snack if they have a source of protein. You can also choose a good cracker (Triscuits low in sodium, for example) and add a piece of cheese to less than 20% f. g. for snack even more satisfactory (4 original crackers [20 g] and 30 g of cheese provide 150 calories and 11 g of protein). Tasty crackers are generally safer than plain crackers and their list of ingredients goes longer.
The less good choices
With 170 mg of sodium, the Crackers Christie Ritz Cheddar among the most salty. They are also lower than average (4 g) and do not provide any fiber. They include some additives, including color (tartrazin).
Although they provide 2 g of fiber, special K crackers we are disappointed by their extensive list of ingredients (including the presence of palm oil, dextrose, corn syrup, dyestuff, inosinate disodium and disanyium guanylate). They also provide 150 mg of sodium, which are among the highest levels.
The least interesting option is Swiss Christie Cheese Crews. These provide 90 calories, 4.5 g of fat and 0.4 g of saturated fat. This is the richest in sodium of the batch with a contribution of 210 mg for a proportion of 19 g (10 cracers). They do not provide any fiber and protein. The presence of many additives (including glutamate and glutamate monodium) adds to our disappointment.
y Breton cheddar fits Also our smaller options. They provide the same size as the previous choice and the highest test in saturated fat test (1 g) test mein. They show 100 calories, 1 g of fiber and 140 mg of sodium and some additives.
