Diabetes among minors have increased disadvantagedly at a national level due to poor practice, the Head of Children's Hospital Endocrinology Service, Carlos Del Águila, said as part of World Diabetes Fighting Day.
"In the 90's we had two cases a year, today, in the first quarter, there were 35 cases," explained the specialist for National Radio.
In this regard, he recommended improving the way of life of children with parental support.
"It's important to have a healthy diet, physical activity and respect for sleeping hours." In a child's check, the pediatrician can detect when the child becomes obese and prevents the disease.
At Ysbyty del Niño de Breña, a diabetes screening campaign was held free of charge. The results were presented immediately.
