In Mexico, 85 percent of lung cancer cases are diagnosed in advanced stages, although treatments to identify this neoplas, the leading cause of death in the world, said. José Manuel Mier Odriozola, member of the Institute of Pre-Multiplicated Thoractic (ICTMI) operations.
"The vast majority of patients diagnosed with lung cancer are diagnosed at late stages, that is, when they will no longer have a curative therapeutic option"he warned.
Manuel Mier explained that tobacco use is the main factor they put in patients in Mexico. He was considering that 87 per cent of patients consumed tobacco during a large part of their lives.
Certainly, the cigar is one of the most important risk factors, it has a history of smoking, up to 87 percent of all patients with lung cancer, "he said.
The doctor explained that there were other risk factors to develop this neoplasm, such as exposure to some forms of radiation, environmental pollution, diseases that affect the immune system, reducing drugs defenses and the hereditary factor.
