Now that HBOs Game Thrones we over (for now, anyway), we remind you of your previous TV obsession: Downton Abbey.
Yes, the popular British television series ended at the end of 2015, but on Wednesday morning Focus Features released the first trailer for director Michael Engler. Downton Abbey film, which will continue the history of the Crawley family and their prince of servants.
As the two-and-a-half minute trailer reveals, the film takes place in 1927 – about a year and a half after the TV series has finished – and everyone in Downton is preparing for the arrival of two very special guests. Two very special royal hotels, actually: King George V (portrayed by Simon Jones) and Queen Mary (Geraldine James).
Along the way, viewers will be introduced to shock new faces (Imelda Staunton and Tuppence Middleton are among the new cast members), but they'll also see many familiar ones, including some of Carson's faithful Butler (Jim). Carter), returning to Downton at the request of Lady Mary to help ensure that the staff downstairs reach the occasion.
