"There should be double danger for that reason," says Greenberg. "He won that case."

Kelly, who was released from child pornography payments in 2008, has constantly denied sexual misconduct.

Greenberg said he believed that prosecutors had given the best to award Friday when charging Kelly, calling the singer an "innocent man".

"Mr Kelly is strong," added Greenberg. "He has a lot of support and will be realized on all these payments."

The arrest set the platform for another famous trial # MeToo-era. Bill Cosby went to prison last year, and a former head of Hollywood studio, Harvey Weinstein, is waiting for a trial.

The best known for things like I believe I can fly, Kelly was raised a week after Michael Avenatti, the attorney whose clients have included Stormy Daniels' star star, said he was giving a new video of prosecutors from the singer with an underage.

At a news conference earlier on Friday in Chicago, Avenatti said that a 14-year-old girl seen with R Kelly on the video was among four victims mentioned in the indictment. He said that the film shows two separate views on two separate days in the Kelly state in the late 1990's.

During the video, the victim and Kelly refer to her age 10 times, he says.

Avenatti said he represented six clients, including two victims, two parents and two people, he described as "knowing R Kelly and being within his inner circle for the better 25 years".

"I do not know what the tape is," said Greenberg of the video Avenatti who gave prosecutors. "We have not seen it. Nobody showed us the tape."

The new payments were marked as a "double moment", said Avenatti, adding that he believed that more than 10 other people involved with Kelly should be accused as "enablers" for help with the attacks, transport young people and handle evidence.

The video resulted during a 10 month investigation by the Avenatti office. He told the AP that the person who provided the VHS tape knows Kelly and the woman in the video.

In the year 2008 the jury was lost by Kelly of child pornography charges that arose from a graphic video that prosecutors said he showed that he had sex with a girl as young as 13. He and the young woman allegedly He was allegedly refused to be in the video 27 minutes, although the quality of the picture was good and witnesses testified that they were her, and did not take the stall. Kelly could have reached 15 years in prison.

Because the alleged victim declined 10 years ago that she was on the video and did not testify, the country's attorney's office had no right except for lower crime under Illinois law, children's pornography, who required lower quality evidence.

All new payments account lasts up to seven years in prison. If Kelly is convicted on each of the 10 counts, a judge may decide that the sentences run one after another – making it possible for him to receive up to 70 years behind buckets Test is also an option under the statute.

Greenberg said he was proposing to sit down with prosecutors before payments were filed to discuss why the allegations were "unfounded". But they refuse, he says.

"Unfortunately, they have fallen to the court of public opinion, who have convicted him," he said.

Legally and professionally, the walls began to shut in on Kelly after announcing the BBC's documentation last year and the documentary Multiple time Surviving R Kelly, which led last month. Together they explained allegations that he was holding women against their will and running "sex culture".

#MeToo operators and a social media organization using the #MuteRKelly hashtag calls on streaming services to drop music and Kelly champions not to register more concerts. Protestants showed out Kelly's Chicago studio.

As early as Thursday, two girls held a news conference in New York to describe how Kelly chose them out of a crowd in Baltimore's backdrop in the 1990's when they were underage. They said that Kelly had sex with one of the young people when she was under the influence of marijuana and alcohol and could not consent.

Lawyer Gloria Allred joined Latresa Scaff and Rochelle Washington when they told their story in public for the first time.

In the indictment, the prosecution brought attention to the statute of restrictions, saying that even abuse that occurred more than two decades ago came within the permit window allowed under the law of Illinois. Victims usually have 20 years to report abuse, beginning when they turn 18.
