The American aircraft controller, FAA, keeps all Boeing 737 MAX aircraft on the land for the time being.
Only when the inspection is fully satisfied with the solutions that Boeing offers for the technical problems, will flight be allowed with passengers again.
"A lot of work needs to be done to ensure that Boeing has identified and resolved every problem," said an FAA spokesman on Monday.
"The FAA will not give permission to reuse the devices until the new software is completely satisfactory."
As soon as the new software has been installed, the devices will have to be tested first before they can be used again for commercial trips.
Boeings 737 was removed by two major accidents
A 737 MAX Boeing airplane has been on the world around the world since last month after a major accident occurred in two months with two different aircraft.
Nearly 350 people were killed in accidents in Ethiopia and Indonesia. Both accidents were reported to have been caused by technical problems with the navigation system.
