Proceedings of the Tenth International Conference on Development and the Environment in the Arab World at Assiut University


Assiut University ended; Proceedings of the Tenth International Conference on Development and the Environment in the Arab World “Challenges and Solutions”, organized by the Center for Environmental Studies and Research in the Community Services and Environmental Development Sector during the current period 8 to 10 November this with the participation of about 42 scientific investigations for more than 250 researchers from different Arab countries and Egyptian universities at their centers. Research in various environmental fields.

This came under the auspices of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister for Higher Education, Yasmine Fouad, Minister of the Environment, and Major-General Essam Saad El Din, Governor of Assiut.

The collection was witnessed by the presence of Dr. Maha Ghanem, Vice President of Community Service and Environmental Development and Conference Chair, Dr. Ahmed Al-Minshawi, Vice President of Postgraduate Studies and Research, Thabet Abdel Moneim, Director of the Center for Environmental Studies and Research and Conference General Secretary, and Dr. Muhammad Abu Al-Qasim, former Dean of the College of Engineering and Rapporteur. The conference, as well as a large crowd of teachers, experts and researchers with an interest in environmental, health and community issues, and a number of active, popular, religious and media leaders.

As well as developing a future vision for Arab water resources with their development to face climate change, and supporting geological and hydrogeological studies to discover, evaluate and use underground reservoirs for development, in addition to the need to spread awareness of the compensation of wars of different generations, be it fourth, fifth or sixth with the making of legislation and binding laws on them.

Dr. emphasized that Maha Ghanem during the recommendations that the university is a house of expertise in all areas and that it provides scientific and applied solutions to change society’s culture towards environmental problems, as well as the need to popularize the use of new and renewable energy through scientific studies, and emphasizing the content of the subject of science.

The environment in school curricula at various educational stages, together with the establishment of training programs for media workers related to field reports on environmental problems in devising solutions based on more effective activities, highlighting the emphasis of the conference recommendations on the need to make the best use of all types of waste recycling to reduce environmental pollution. And on the other hand boosting the national economy, as well as using technologically safe alternatives to combat agricultural pests, encouraging studies and research in producing these alternatives, and working to strengthen insect and pest combat programs agricultural as a barrier to environmental development, with an emphasis on establishing international controls to limit the spread of slums and unplanned pockets. Urbanization in major cities through the use of new planning methods and approaches that take account of sustainable environmental development.

He also called for the need to adopt a geo-digital information model for early detection and warning of flood risks, and the need to rely on integrating the data actually monitored by the Meteorological Authority, as well as encouraging the creation of Arab universities academic chairs for the environment and work to disseminate environmental observatories in the Arab regions and turn the environmental issue into a national issue. Like other issues, calls for the establishment of an Arab-funded fund of all Arab countries under the auspices of environmental research centers at Arab universities and under the umbrella of the Arab League to support, protect against extinction and traditional craft and traditional industry activities marketing aimed at developing the environment and societies with cultural heritage, and the need to develop and enforce all environmental legislation. Arab countries are in accordance with international regulations.
