Repeat trial of violence in jury absence



A man charged with rape and sexually assaulted a man twice his age on the street side of Cork City went two years ago in the absence of today's jury.

Ms Justice Eileen Creedon told the six women and six men of the jury to return to the Central Criminal Court sitting in Cork for the resumption of tomorrow's trial.

The accused accused two charges of rape and sexual assault on the complainant on 30 May 2017.

The accused is about 30 years old and the complainant was back at the time and is now 63 years old.
