Covid-19 Ireland: No new deaths, 252 new cases



The Department of Health has confirmed tonight that no new Covid-19 deaths were reported to the HSPC today, confirming 252 new Covid-19 cases.

There were a total of 2,022 Covid-19 related deaths in Ireland, and a total of 70,711 confirmed cases of the virus.

The national 14-day prevalence rate is now 109 per 100,000 people, with the five-day average showing 333 cases per day.

Of the cases reported today:

• 124 are male / 128 are female

• 65% are under 45 years of age

• The median age is 34 years

• 88 in Dublin, 26 in Cork, 21 in Kilkenny, 16 in Louth, 16 in Mayo with 85 spread across 20 other counties

At 2pm today 289 Covid-19 patients are in hospital, of which 33 are ICU. There have been 11 additional hospitals in the last 24 hours.
