The nose is very slow in hospital, 215 dead in 24 hours

Signs of a decline in the epidemic are being confirmed: 215 Covid-19 patients have died in the last 24 hours, 61 fewer than the day before, and the test positivity rate has dropped to 14 %, said French Public Health Sunday evening.

The improvement also continues in the number of new cases detected. On Sunday, that figure was 13,157, compared with 17,881 on Saturday and nearly 23,000 on Friday. A carefully monitored government figure, which is preparing to phase out the restriction.

Similarly, the test positivity rate (the proportion of positive people compared to the total number of people tested) continued to fall: 14% on Sunday versus 14.8 the day before.

This makes a total of 2,140,208 confirmed Covid cases in France since the start of the epidemic, according to data from the health agency.

The number of deaths associated with coronavirus totals 48,732, including 33,445 in hospitals.

New hospitals fell by 22% over 7 days and new admissions to intensive care by 25%.
