The Ethiopian government launched a second tender for wheat milling on Tuesday, taking the exceptional volume we intend to buy in March and April to 1 million mt.
The tender is due to close on April 30, with a consignment taking place in the following two months, says a statement on the Public Procurement and Disposal of Property Service (PPPDS) website.
Last week, PPPDS launched a separate tender to purchase 400,000 mt of optional milling wheat, with that agreement to close on 19 April.
Ethiopia is still suffering from the effects of prolonged drought which broke domestic production this year and announced the tenders to prevent a shortage of growing wheat in the country.
Details of previous Ethiopia tenders can be found on the Tender Dashboard.
