An official source in the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy revealed that the Egyptian Transfer of Electricity Company completed the drilling of an electrical connection project with the Sudan with a total of 300 MW in the first stage of 90%. It is scheduled to be operational in December, a starting point for transforming Egypt into a regional center. That way it will be able to connect fully to Africa.
The source said in a special statement for the "seventh day" that the electrical connection line operational tests will be launched with Sudan at the end of this month and will be officially operational in mid-December, focusing on the operation of a 150 MW capacity in only instead of 300 MW as planned.
The source explained that the capacity of the line will be split into two parts by 150 megawatts per part, due to the inability to absorb converter stations in Sudan to absorb these capabilities once, explaining the operation of a second part the 150 MW 150-line connection line capacity and new year.
