There are many aligator associated with advanced phones. However, the company also focuses on durable smartphones. This is the eXtremo model tested by RX700. At first glance, however, you wouldn't say it, at least when looking at it from the front. Weight and dimensions can compete with some traditional smartphones.
The phone is sold on the Czech market for CZK 5,000. At this price, it will offer a quality design that can withstand falls and will not fear water or dust. Yet everything retains its compact dimensions and unreasonable weight. Unfortunately, there have been big reductions in hardware equipment, the camera, and unfortunately the software will find significant defects.

Design
Armor on diet. When it comes to armed phones, the look will never play front, but the focus is mainly on durability and functionality. Certainly, even the tested Aligator RX700 email will certainly not impress you, but it cannot be denied that it is quite compact on rough phone terms. The thickness of 10.4 mm and weight "only 208 grams" is closer to common smartphones. So there is no way in your hand or your pocket.

The phone is not overgrown despite its durable workmanship and it fits well in the hand. Visually it looks pretty blurred except the distinctive red lines that bounce to the eyes.
On the other hand, it will offer higher durability, it is guaranteed by zinc alloy side walls as well as back and corner surfaces with their rubbers to reduce accidents. Everything fits well, it's screwed together and the phone looks very firm. I was a little worried by the distinctive red lines on the outskirts of the phone, which looks in the eye.

The strength of the phone is secured by a metal frame to make it of zinc alloy.
On the front side is an exhibition with relatively wide frames, which could be advantageous in the case of armor. A front camera, handset and sensors are required. On the back we can see a dual camera, a microphone, a fingerprint reader, an LED flash and an amazing speaker who unfortunately unites with the face, so when the phone is placed on the table, the sound very quiet. On the back, however, I highly recommend the anti-slip layer, which makes the phone safer in the hands.

On the back you will appreciate the rough surface, which means the phone is not so slippery. The criticism here comes mainly from the speaker's point of view, which is completely covered when put on the table.
Normally the right side will usually offer volume control and a button to be located great that you can hold it comfortably with your thumb in your hand. The top side only includes a 3.5mm headphone jack. At the bottom, you will find a pair of microphones, and the USB-C connector is not, despite the waterproofing that complies with the IP68, deserves credit.

The manufacturer placed the camera lid on the left hand side in the wrong place. It will be useful when shooting in portrait mode.
However, a big criticism goes to the left side of the phone, to a nanoSIM hybrid slot drawer or memory card. Especially because of the waterproof nature of the phone, it is still so tight that you would definitely cut its nail when it was removed. So, I recommend using a thin flat screwdriver, a knife or something similar. You won't get too much with a pin.

You can also find a USB-C cable, 5W adapter and headphones in the box.
Disappointment comes with the camera button to the left side. It's nice to double to quickly transfer the camera's application, but I'd rather program myself. Even a stranger is that the button is a trigger for pictures, which, because of its location in the middle of the left side, is the least suitable place where the manufacturer could put it. Take a picture of it in a comfortable way with a portrait reference.
Display
It will not frown, it will not. Because of the lower price, the exhibition brings even more concessions. IPS 5.7 ”panel on HD + 1,440 × 720 pixels, which fortunately looks much worse on paper than in reality. Only when you look carefully you will see pixels. Worse, the exhibition itself is set quite deeply under the slipper, which you will notice every time you use your phone.

The display only offers some basic settings such as brightness control or night mode as a blue light filter.
Even the display's color won't make you happy, as the image looks weak, faded. However, after a few days of use you get used to it and you won't get anything else, you won't change your phone settings. Unfortunately, it's worse with brightness. At night, you will not think of lowering it, and because of the lowest value you will worry about worse readability in the sun during the day.
So you can enjoy at least good viewing angles or some features such as a night light filter that can be manually or automatically turned by default schedule. For example, I personally miss the glove management method we often see with rugged smartphones. You'll need to do that with at least the gestures to turn the display on by double tapping or launching applications quickly by removing the first letter.
Hardware
Slug power and charging. As far as hardware is concerned, the Aligator RX700 email falls into a lower category. In fact, the MediaTek MT6739 processor does not use any great performance, nor does it support 3GB of memory. So when using it, you have to consider slower reactions, when starting the application and unfortunately when going through the system, where some jamming is not a unique issue at all. Sometimes you have to be quiet and slow on the phone.
Performance – AnTuTu 7.1.5
- Total score: 45 100 points
- UPA: 22,249 points
- GPU: 3,090 points
- UX: 14,589 points
- MEM: 5,172 points (RAM: 1,702, ROM: 3,470 points)
The size of the internal storage phone is 32 GB, while the user is accessible at the start of 26.5 GB, making the seconds. Often, few British places are less available for similar capacity. On the other hand, don't expect any great speed. Reading speed is average, but very low writing speed is already signed on longer delays in setting applications. I must not forget to support memory cards with capacity up to 256 GB.
Fortunately, the lack of connectivity, where we see full support for all LTE frequencies, is surprising and VoLTE support is also surprising, and the phone reminds you of the notification bar. Of course Wi-Fi support also operates in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. In addition, there is an older Bluetooth 4.0 and also NFC allows non-contact payments. Conservative consumers will also enjoy the FM radio that needs headphones.
Storage Speed - AndroBench: t
- Sequential Reading: 244.72 MB / s
- Sequential Writing: 101 MB / s
- Random Reading: 25.36 MB / s (6,493.84 IOPS)
- Random listing: 8.63 MB / s (2,209.92 IOPS)
Location services include GPS and GLONASS and I also appreciate the presence of e-compass. Of course, there are sensors such as gyroscope or proximity sensor which, as well as its normal functions, use the smart phone to increase the circle if your phone is in your pocket. I have to praise my fingerprint reader too, which was surprisingly quick because of the price range, but it was more sensitive to greasy fingers.
The greatest contrast between good and bad was the endurance. The built-in builder 4 300 mA has been able to handle 2 days without any problem. With less restraint, it was not even a problem dealing with three days. However, the phone doesn't like the intense load when the battery falls unexpectedly quickly. This is also evidenced by the incredibly low levels of filming or fake web viewing we measure on phones with a third of a weaker battery. However, if you choose automatic brightness and you do not intend to watch films intensively for hours, you will be happy with it.
Stamina:
- Full HD video play (Wi-Fi, 100% brightness): 6 hours 59 minutes
- Web surfing over Wi-Fi (50% brightness):7 hours 32 minutes
- Charging time (0 – 100%): 3 hours 19 minutes
But I have a huge problem with charging. The manufacturer only supplies a 5W adapter to the phone, which means you will charge from 0 to 100% for more than 3 hours. Of course, you can easily accelerate the charging process by using a stronger charger.
The discipline that was last monitored is the quality of the sound. Do not expect any musical ambitions in the case of a speaker on the back. The sound is noisy, the ears are pulled by the ears, and you are not willing to listen to any genre. But what is to be welcomed is armor is its highest volume. In short: you will certainly not hear the call on the construction site and use the headphones to listen to music.
Software
Oreo biscuit after shelf life. On the software side, the eXtremo Altator RX700 is very disappointing. Although the system is clean and there is almost no bloatware to see it, I praise the phone for that, but the benefits of the system are about to expire. It's very hopeless, so everything is slow, it takes a long time to launch applications, and conversions can be seen between the windows. But partial hardware also carries partial blame.

The phone offers 8.1 Android pure Oroid, unfortunately with incomplete Czech localization.
Unfortunately, there is already an Android Oreo 8.1 to install in advance, which, because of the price, can be limited. But the sad thing is that the manufacturer doesn't care about it at all. The last security update is here from June 5, 2018, ie at the time of writing a review of about 11 months old. Therefore, all security patches issued since then are missing, which could be exploited.
After all, the tested piece showed me great after the first launch, when Google Protect revealed on the Android background that a Font Manager application was harmful on the phone. According to the label, our software can allow unauthorized access to my data or my device. It may just be a false alarm, but it's still something you don't want to deal with when buying a new phone.

Already after the first launch, the phone began reporting a potentially harmful application.
Despite the clean system, a new Aligator added a few features for various gestures, application manager in the background, and several other features to the setup menu. Unfortunately, it did not bother to translate them into Czech at all. And it's just about a specific location, English has stayed even with a few basic switches in the control center like automatic sticking or brightness. In practice, you can do without knowledge of the language, but certainly the incomplete location of the phone will not make a good impression.
Camera
Twins without photographic ambitions. Although it's an armed phone, we're trying to go with the trend of dual cameras. The main one here offers a 16 Mpx solution on a f / 2.2 aperture, but the second lens only has a VGA resolution and serves only bokeh effect. Unfortunately, the quality of the pictures is not famous. Although the pictures are quite sharp, but they lose the detail and quality of the ubiquitous installation, which can sometimes be liked, but the dark corners of each picture certainly do not want. At night, there is a lot of noise in the pictures, but there is little deviation from an equally cheap competition.
The manufacturer prides itself on the bokeh effect mentioned above, ie the blurred background. However, background algorithms have strong flaws as they often don't know what the background is. In fact, he has spread my face several times and left the background paradoxically. In better cases, when we hit ourselves, we cut our teeth on the boundaries of the object to focus on.

The bokeh effect test with a dual rear camera.
Of course, the Aligator has a 5Mpx front camera, which, because of the price, would not have to be bad at all. But even here, software kills, or the tendency to beautify each picture. Your face looks like after a thorough retouch. The skin is relaxed unnaturally and vital details are lost. Of course, the beautification rate can be adjusted or even turned off, but it is turned on by default, so be careful in the settings.

Sample photos of the front camera
The camera application itself is very simple and isn't much to scratch. Clear graphics, easy switching between methods, important switches are accessible in the top bar. In short, we must praise Aligator here. The only criticism is the separation of HDR function into a separate photographic method. I think much more naturally is the function among other switches in the basic camera, as is the majority of manufacturers. Some users may also lose manual mode.

Application camera environment
Of course, the phone also manages video recording, up to full HD quality. Unfortunately, here too, the quality of someone will not fail. There is little stabilization here, so be aware of the shaky image that is also obviously ripping. It doesn't add to the experience the constant refocusing on the image, nor even the installation.
Conclusion
The Aligator RX700 Extremo is a blurred armor that is sold on the Czech market for CZK 5,000. For this you will appreciate the increased resistance especially to water and dust, but the design can cope with falling easily. The phone has a lower performance underlined by a tuned system that has gaps in the location.
However, Aligator has the advantage of not having affordable, armed smartphones on the market. However, one of the direct competitors, I can call the S55 Doogee with very similar equipment, only a stronger battery. The same can be said about UleFone Armor 5. A specific competition can also be G6 Evolveo StrongPhone, which offers slightly weaker equipment, but a higher level of resistance, including military certification.
