The Ombudsman asked to reduce fuel prices

The Ombudsman, Miguel Ángel Godoy Servín, asked the president of the Paraguayan Petróleos (Petropar) a reduction in the prices of different types of fuels, taking into account oil price data in recent months.

According to the document presented at the state company offices, the price of raw was as follows: in August was US $ 72.28 per barrel; September was recorded at US $ 77.18; in October, he reached US $ 79.58 and in the first half of November he was registered at US $ 68.47 in bargain. From yesterday, crude oil had an international price of $ 51.51 in bargain, the lowest recently.

The Ombudsman noted that, by surprise, he preferred to identify significant issues to the consumer's right, taking into account that the owner of Petropar, in public, has said that the rise in fuel prices depends on the international price of crude oil and dollar.

In Chile, yesterday, the reduction in fuel prices and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) had to register for the fifth consecutive week. This information was confirmed by the President of the Republic of Chile, Sebastián Piñera, through his Twitter account. "This represents an important relief to the pile of Chile," said the president through his social network.

Petropar, PatriciaSamudio's owner, yesterday, supported by Monumental radio, that only by the end of the month he will analyze the likelihood of whether or not the average diesel price is reduced, fuel whose values are crucial to & # 39 ; the Paraguayan economy.

In another point, he explained that, if a cubic meter of oil reaches US $ 450 and if the dollar is lower than G. 6,000, it could be a bigger reduction in hydrocarbon prices.

High price of crude oil and dollar increase were the main reasons that forced the emblems to increase the prices of every fuel marketed in the country in mid-September this year.

After the adjustment, the price of the US currency and crude oil, but especially the second, showed a significant reduction, however, the fuel-makers in the country still hold prices of their products.

For Eddie Jara, former president of Petropar, there are elements so that emblems that operate in the country can reduce fuel prices. "There are two elements, the price of international oil and dollar exchange rate, these define how much fuel prices should be in every market," he said.
