For a few years, in km77 we tried to do the evasion test and slalom with all the cars we tested. The Tesla 3 Model we purchased for a long-term test has not been an exception.

The result has been very good, a record for the avoidance. The unanimous view of the three drivers who took part is that it is an excellent response.

We have made two videos. One of them is normal, with the different tickets we made during the test. In the other, drivers enjoy a little more in their feelings at the wheel (you can see click on this link). In addition, at the end of this week we will be publishing a new record where we will detail the conditions under which we carried out these tests and how the tires were degraded.

The first pass is always the so-called "Test77". We do it without knowing how the car will react to the evasion movement and at an access speed of 77 km / h. That is our target speed, although we do not always achieve it; in fact, with the Model 3 we are 74 km / h.

We threw a cone, but the reactions were safe and easy to handle. The video shows that the brake lights continue during almost all the exercise, something that will be repeated during the various tickets. Not because we put the brakes on, but rather to implement electronic aids or reproductive braking (there are two levels of reproductive braking, Low and Standard, which is the standard that slows the car by release the trigger).

This is the sixth attempt, the first with the reproductive brake in Standard mode, where we reached the highest access speed, 83 km / h.

The best ticket is achieved with the resuscitation brake in Standard mode, which gives you the most retention. We recorded at 83 km / h. We have, for now and along with Ford Focus 2018, the car we have successfully completed this movement at a higher speed.

But beyond the speed of access, what we value with this test is the car reactions. And in this case they have been excellent, without sudden moves at any time. The electronic stability aids intervened in a moderate and subtle way, operating with the necessary precision so that the driver did not notice his operation in practice and to make the car not lose track. .

With the Low Retention method we were about to achieve
successful pass at 82 km / h. Despite that
the car loses less speed when lifting the trigger than in
Standard approach, reactions were equally satisfactory.

The maximum speed we tried to operate the movement was 88 km / h. We did not achieve it, but even at such a high speed the car maintains very good accuracy and, above all, responds in a progressive and predictable way. Without fear of those who drive it.

Nuesto Tesla Model 3 is a cone slalom set 22 meters away.

In the slalom the feelings were just as good. It is noted that the center of seriousness of Model 3 is very low, and even a heavy car, of almost 2000 kg, costs little change of direction. This, coupled with a quick and accurate direction, and the correct intervention of the electronic aids, allows the cones (separated by 22 meters) to be connected with a great speed and feeling of control. We have a car with reactions that give us a lot of confidence to drive the tire limit of the tire.

Our conclusion is clear: we are very satisfied with Tesla Model 3 performance in the avoidance and movement of slalom. Also with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires are carried. The last, as well as ensuring good adhesion, has not suffered excessive wear and tear when we have introduced them to this challenging test.
