Dominican hospitals are full Wednesday with people affected by fever and influenza, mainly children and elderly people.
The General Epidemiology Directorate reported that 52,200 cases in the last week were treated with highway febril respiratory disease and 11,375 low paths, reaching 215,856 over the last four weeks.
According to local media, children and elderly people are most affected by viruses and, as such, authorities asked the population to get vaccinated to avoid events unfortunate
The flu virus circulating in the country is the A A H1N1 flu, B flu and the respiratory syncyt, and the latter mainly affects children under five.
Currently, the children's hospital Robert Reid Cabral has all their occupied beds and patients are waiting for flu and other illnesses.
