The Center for Public Studies announced this morning the results of a survey on "Religion in Chile", which took place between October and November this year.
The survey, among other results, showed the continuing downturn that people who consider themselves as a Catholic have received. According to the CEP, the Catholic loyalists reached 73% in June 1998, twenty years later, only 55% the figure reaches, according to La Tercera.
The results presented by the organization show that the strongest fall that started ten years ago, when Catholics reached 69%.
Evangelies are kept
In the survey, it was also said that those who are not evangelist themselves have suffered large variations. In 1998 the figure was 14%, in 2008 17% and last year, 16%.
On the other hand, those who do not feel close to any religion have increased in the last 20 years. In 1998 they were 7%, in 2008 11% and 24% this year.
