The first day of winter brings rainy weather to Montreal, freezing rain to the north of St. Lawrence


The rain that began overnight will continue today as temperatures climb up to 6 C for the first winter day unreasonably.

Environment Canada announced a rainfall warning for the Montreal area – it is expected to fall 25 to 35 millimeters on Friday.

Early morning commuters should be careful of ice on the roads before the temperature is warm.

Montreal's public transit authority warns that bus users expect delays on the network.

Other areas of Quebec will be hit by the rain.

"Some areas to the north of the River Lawrence could see between 50 and 80 millimeters," the weather agency stated on its website.

Some rain and snow are expected for the Montreal Tour.

The temperature will drop Sunday, but on the brilliant side, the outdoors are expected to be clear until now until Wednesday.

School closure

In the Eastern Districts, where a freezing rainfall is still in force, all schools and centers of the East & East School Board are closed today, including day days.

A day care service is still provided for parents who have registered as regular users.

The Commission's scammers of Samares, who have schools in the Lanaudière region, are also closed today.
