All societies, human, api and other monkeys produce a large variety of calls. Again, only people who have language and music. Themes abilities require sensitivity to dependencies. People expect a sentence to include an agent and the corresponding verb; or tune to include notes that are related to each other. Is this "dependency sensitivity" just as unique for people or is it also present in other habitats? In response to this question, Stephan Reber and Vedrana Spanopor and colleagues in the Department of Cognitive Biology at the University of Vienna looked at the common marmoset monkeys. This species belongs to the New World habitats, which are split into Old World habitats (including people) over 30 million years ago.

The researchers are open marbles to sequences of peep tunes, which began and ended with a low tone and had a large number of high ties between them. The low rains create the dependent elements and, as in language or music, they may be at a different distance from each other. After the monkeys heard hundreds of these sequences, they were attracted into a test equipment individually and they heard two types of novel responses: sequences that followed the same pattern as that of (and some with different numbers of high tins between the two low ones) and sequences that do not have the first or the next low. Therefore, the last sequences were losing dependence. Then, the researchers examined whether the marmosets were looking more towards the loudspeaker for sequences with or without dependencies. They use specialized software created by co-author Jinook Oh, who could automatically trace the head movements of the marmosets. This procedure allowed an unprecedented detail of behavioral coding. "The difference between sequences with dependencies probably does not seem very relevant to marmosets. That's why we are planning an installation that could even find even the smallest movements," explained Reber.

In fact, the marmosets differentiated between the play responses. They turn more often towards the loudspeaker when they hear sequences with addictions. "This was a little surprising as primary students usually looked longer at inconsistent stimuli during such experiments, however, there is often a choice for familiar sequences in human babies' studies," said Sulgop. Attitude sensitivity sensitivity in marmoses suggests that this important aspect of language is already present in the common antiquity of the World and World monkeys, of marmets and people.
