Sony has once again provided some new details on its next generation console. As part of the Sony Corporate Strategy Meeting today, the company discussed the high level of what we hope to achieve in the future across its different business units, including PlayStation.

The two key words for PlayStation in the future are "immersed" and "seamless," said Sony. In terms of hardware, Sony said that its next generation console, the PlayStation 5, will offer a "immersive experience created by faster speed of graphics rendering."

This will be possible by "employing more computational power and fast SSD, very fast to adjust," said Sony.

Generally, the PlayStation 5 – or whatever Sony calls it our new console – will offer experiences that “much more than” what is possible on PS4 and PS4 Pro t . Sony said that people can expect "completely transformative gaming experiences and immerse themselves" on the PS5.

One of the features mentioned by Mark Cerny, the PlayStation system architect about the PS5, is how his use of solid state campaigns will reduce loading screening times.

Cerny pointed out that the fast-loading Spider-Man on PS4 screen took about 15 seconds on Pro PS4, but less than one second on a package for the PS5. Given that the new hardware will be compatible with older games, that means your loading times are likely to be reduced across the board when upgrading. Check out the video below from the Wall Street Journal of Takashi Mochizuki's report that attended the Sony event today to see the faster loading times in place.

Cerny also spoke about how the PS5 will allow for faster rendering, which means more objects and environmental textures will fill faster. In today's presentation, Sony said the PS5 will offer "many new features" beyond these developments to load and render, although none were mentioned.

During the presentation, Sony also said it expected PS4 to sell 100 million units by the end of the 2019 calendar year. PS4 sales are currently 96.8 million systems sold. PlayStation Network has 94 million monthly active users, said the company.

Sony managers also mentioned how streaming will play a major role in the future PlayStation brand. The PS5 will support Remote Play functionality, Sony confirmed, while the managers also said it was looking at its new deal with Microsoft for cloud gaming solutions to play a part in the company's success in that area in the future. Sony is already operating the PlayStation Now streaming service (which has 700,000 subscribers from Sony's latest account), but the company seems to have bigger and stronger plans in the future.

Sony is not attending E3 2019 next month, so there's probably the company won't announce the PlayStation 5 there. The PlayStation will have 5 "attractive" price points given its specifications, according to Cerny, but there is no rough estimate yet as to what the price is.
