Edmonton Oilers claim Valentin Zykov on omissions

[ad_1]

The Oilers have turned into the waxed wire to add some depth to their wires. The team has claimed Valentin Zykov off omissions from Carolina Hurricanes.

Zykov was originally drafted by the Kings LA in the second round of 2013 and was subsequently traded to Carolina Hurricanes in a deadline agreement including Kris Versteeg back in 2016. He is a big, strong brother who is # 39; use her size to excel down low and in front of the net. He also has a good shot and high-tech skills.

Zykov, a 6 "bone of Russia, has given very good numbers in the AHL, but it has not translated into the NHL at the moment. Last year, it scored 33 goals and was given 54 points in 63 matches to Charlotte Checkers, most of the team on goals and second for points. He also scored three goals and seven points in 10 games with Carolina at NHL last season .

It's on a two-year deal with a haro cap of $ 675,000 so there is almost no zero risk attached to this allegation. Zykov, considering his skill and success in the AHL, is someone who could hold a fire if he is played in the right situation here. If he works out, he will be a bargain because he has been hit. If not, then it can be thrown back on omissions and the team can try again with someone else. You may make Zykov with Ryan Spooner as the wingers around JJ Khaira and this is sometimes the Connor McDavid line with double shifts.

I can imagine that Patrick Russell, who does not need omissions, will be sent back to AHL Bakersfield to make Zykov a place. I would like to see Zykov in six roles, but I do not know who Jesse Puljujarvi, Alex Chiasson, or Drake Caggiula, will be going out of that mix at the moment.

I wrote about the acquisition of Zykov in the WWYDW earlier this week, Christian Pagnani suggested that the Oilers should apply yesterday when he went on articles, and Dusty Nielson said yesterday at Inside The Nation.
