Months after the premiere of the new Mercedes A class with the fine MBUX system developed by Bulgarian engineers, the automotive singer announced its next revolutionary technology with birth presence. This is the world's most modern truck line – the new Actros with Active Drive Assist.
The role of the Viseon Bulgarian development center is extremely large – from the engineering direction of the project to the personal development of the individual elements of the system's architecture. On the device itself, independently of each other, three different operating systems work to provide a safe and secure environment for performing specific actions. A revolution for this type of inset system is the use of hardware virtualization software to better control peripherals. The project is based on Visteon's SmartCore technology, which integrates several traditional devices into a unified system. With this success with a first truck project, engineers at Sofia Development Center are extremely proud of the opportunity to win a unique experience in heavy transport.
With a series of appearances in various exhibitions and leading launchers of the Actros, Daimler showed live the heavyweight news live. The main features of the new trucks are to get rid of both side and in-depth digital mirrors. Traditional power tools (speedometers, turntables, etc.) have been replaced by a large configuration that can be configured as desired by the driver. The number of buttons around the dashboard is also reduced by sensitive panels that are sensitive to touch, the driver can change menus that provide information about the traffic situation and, truck condition, driving mode or fast access to multimedia and associated telephone.
Other interesting modules in the new Actors are:
- semi-autonomous drive (the truck itself follows and does not leave the lane)
- Identify road signs and objects as well as road users
- Lane Lane Notice (in the case of manual driving) and Objection of Blind Refuse Notice (Empty)
- Set configurable panel in accordance with driver options and adjust the truck through the driver profile
In addition to the showboard, the central touchscreen display with intuitive interface, navigation wheel buttons and a quick release button bar under the center display are worth attention. They enable the driver to easily navigate through the menus, whether they are music and entertainment, or receive important information about the status of the truck, and manage a variety of functions that can be installed further on the vehicle.
The main menus available on the central exhibition are:
- Media and radio
- Smart phone and phone (using Apple Interfaces – CarPlay and Google – AndroidAuto)
- Lighting control
- The status of the truck
- Virtual buttons
- Control of air conditioner
With Mercedes-Benz Trucks, with more than 60 new features, released partial autonomous driving in the production of a series, Bulgarian engineers tested their ideas and skills in their first class.
