the revolution in progress, first impressions and useful contacts

Compatible? M1 App Checker vous by dit.
Compatible? The M1 App Checker tells you.

We have been deviating for a few days on the efficiency of Apple’s M1 chip along with only 16 GB of RAM. On our MacBook Pro, the apple processor shines cool and powers almost every Mac application and even beyond as it is possible to use ones intended for iOS.

It was a little shock to turn the latest Apple MacBook proudly powered by its in-house chip! As the first tests suggested, the animated machines are therefore generally quiet and barely heated …

The charge is 8K on the Apple M1

Just last night, for fun, I played 4K HDR and 8K HDR videos from YouTube for a few minutes to challenge the ultimate Apple laptop. Where its 13-inch 2020 predecessor is powered by an Intel Core i7 of 10e generation, Intel Iris Plus and 32 GB of sweating and memory storage, the latest boast…

Almost without heating, while the same Intel-led model almost melts its heat-carrying aluminum shell, the MacBook powered by the Apple Silicon M1 remains immobile and makes its work simply and sensibly.

The extravagant Rosetta 2

Better. Even large applications like Photoshop or Lightroom Classic work wonders thanks to the Rosetta 2. Adapter. Some actions are even faster and we’re not talking about Safari or Chrome responsiveness on the internet!

To prepare for possible migration, there are already very useful tools like Isapplesilicon and the M1 App Checker from Imobie for clearer viewing. Be careful, though, in rare cases, these two tools give inconsistent information.

Very positive signs

My comment? After Microsoft’s first experiments with Windows RT, then with Windows 10 ARM and its Surface Pro X (which doesn’t support x64 yet, but it’s happening …), Apple is showing its mastery of the subject by produce an efficiency masterpiece and almost compatible with Rosetta 2.

In any event, the evolution towards these common chips on smartphones brings a signal that may not have been sufficiently emphasized yet. If these new processors allow more autonomy, above all they consume less energy. Essential for our digital information society!
