Almost without heating, while the same Intel-led model almost melts its heat-carrying aluminum shell, the MacBook powered by the Apple Silicon M1 remains immobile and makes its work simply and sensibly.
The extravagant Rosetta 2
Better. Even large applications like Photoshop or Lightroom Classic work wonders thanks to the Rosetta 2. Adapter. Some actions are even faster and we’re not talking about Safari or Chrome responsiveness on the internet!
To prepare for possible migration, there are already very useful tools like Isapplesilicon and the M1 App Checker from Imobie for clearer viewing. Be careful, though, in rare cases, these two tools give inconsistent information.
Very positive signs
My comment? After Microsoft’s first experiments with Windows RT, then with Windows 10 ARM and its Surface Pro X (which doesn’t support x64 yet, but it’s happening …), Apple is showing its mastery of the subject by produce an efficiency masterpiece and almost compatible with Rosetta 2.
In any event, the evolution towards these common chips on smartphones brings a signal that may not have been sufficiently emphasized yet. If these new processors allow more autonomy, above all they consume less energy. Essential for our digital information society!
