Seattle / Cupertino, California (APA / Reuters) – Amazon expands its offer of Apple products. Shortly before the start of Christmas business, two US technology competitors agreed to expand their limited co-operation in front of them. The biggest online retailer of the world announced Friday to sell the latest versions of iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch and other devices in the United States, Europe, Japan and India over the next few weeks.
So far, Amazon offers only a limited range of Apple products such as Mac computers and brand Beats headphones. Not included in the new offer, however, HomePod, an Apple streaming speaker, is competing with Amazon's comparative online Echo and the Alexa voice service.
Amazon, Apple, and other US technologies, such as Google, have a lot of cooperative power because of their competitive supply of devices and services. However, Amazon and Apple have now overcome these differences to increase sales during the key retail time of the year. The new partnership also shows that Amazon's market power continues to grow in importance for the best brands such as Apple and Nike, who have declined to distribute their products through the online retailer.
At the same time, Amazon is harder against the falsification of brand products. In addition, from January 4, Amazon will remove Apple's third party products of offer, which are not authorized by the iPhone maker for sale. However, customers should continue to be able to buy non-branded accessories – such as headphones – in the Internet department store, which is compatible with Apple devices.
