Daniel Ricciardo and Renault have yet put tongues emptying pre-season tests in Barcelona.
Australia set the track during the morning session on the fourth day of testing, producing the fastest third time, behind Toro Rosso from Alex Albon.
Albon set the fastest equivalent time of testing 1: 17.637 on the soft compact Pirelli, while Ricciardo, running the same tires, gave 1: 17.785 and Lewis Hamilton on the C4 compound a bit harder third in its Mercedes with a time of 1 : 17.997.
Nico Hulkenberg, a member of the Ricciardo team, will be in the car for the afternoons.
There are four other days of testing in Barcelona next week to build on Ricciardo before the Australian Grand Prix opens at Albert Park next month.
Ricciardo had all been surprised earlier on the third day of the tests when he finished third overall behind Toro Rosso from a former Red Bull team Daniil Kvyat and Alfa Romeo from Kimi Raikkonen.
