González Lizarraga noted that COL-3 was a substance that was derived from tetracyclines, which was chemically modified so that its antibiotic activity had decreased. The advantage is that, as it is not antibiotic, it can be used for long treatments such as neurosurgery, avoiding the production of bacterial resistance.

The young researcher said that COL-3 would be better than doxycycline in terms of its neutro-preventative effect. This antibiotics has been studied by Tucumán researchers in recent years for its neuro-preventative effects. "We found that it has anti-inflammatory, antisocial properties that lead to the formation of non-synodin-toxin-free species to doxycycline, is that it has the ability to unlock the fibers that are; are added and that are toxic in Parkinson's disease- "he said.

On the other hand, the SAB awarded the second mention of Lucica Medina's Ponce Hornos Prize and Tucumana.
