New generation of the Toyota Corolla will be introduced in South America by the end of 2019 and then it will reach the local dealerships, just as TN Autos is predicted earlier this month. And the Japanese brand confirms that the sedan will be sold with a very special variation: the hybrid.
It was revealed by President of Argentina's Toyota, Daniel Herrero, in dialogue with the Cordovan Media Drive during the dealer opening. The Japanese head of Japanese brand announced that For the first time the Corolla will have a hybrid variation in the country.
The new Corolla is being produced in Brazil, where it will be shown for the first time towards the end of the year. And from there it will be imported to Argentina, as it has been so far, although this generation will also be imported with an "ecological" option.
The new generation of this model had already been introduced in China, where it was refurbished with a whole aesthetic refurbishment that adapts the four sides of the body, with significant changes in the front and rear. However, the Corolla regional can get some cheat in front of the eastern model.
"The first regional hybrid will be the Corolla, who will of course get to Argentina," says Herrero, confirming he will have 1.8 Atkinson bike engine with electric motors and regeneration pay. This means, just like Prius (that is the hybrid that Toyota already sells in the country), it will not be plugged into energy recovery.
As if this were not enough, President of Argentina said that "Having Corolla Hybrid, the next challenge is the Hilux Hybrid". With this, he assumed that Argentina's collection will be earlier than later with a variation that will combine a combustion engine with one or more electricity.
