CÓRDOBA.- Volt e1, first 100% electric City Car designed and manufactured in the country was presented in this city. They will begin, from today, to manufacture the first units of the small vehicle designed for urban mobility and equipped with technology for comfort and security. Due to its size and benefits it is located in a different segment a
Sero Electric manufactured in Morón, which takes the title of being the first four-wheel Argentine electric vehicle (although it has only two seats).

It has three doors, four wheels and a plug to carry it from home to a 220 V. outlet. It is designed to take two adults and two children up to 12 years in their rear (the rear seat has Isofix hooks for infant beds) , a trunk with capacity for 300 liters of cargo, and maintenance and use costs that, according to their manufacturer, are 90% lower than those of a traditional vehicle. With zero gas emissions thanks to its electric motor, and a maximum speed -limitated electronically- of 110 km / h, it promises to be a great option to walk through the Argentine cities.

Volt e1 that just left in society has little of the traditional car we are seeing in the Argentine streets, because it is thinking from a technological company, so it is closer to a device derived from the internet from the things that an automotive factory .

Its technology, developed in Córdoba, is deployed in both the comfort and the materials used for the construction of the monocasco: carbon fiber, kevlar and resins modified to make it resistant and light. However, at first sight, the pre-sale model still has some finishing details that improve, and data that is still unknown: technical characteristics of the battery and specifications of the many details that include this model, such as the promise that the driver's manual will be available through an enhanced reality application.

Everything via Wi-Fi

Everything in the car can be driven from an application on the cell phone. The unlocking of the doors, the control of the windows, the lights, the location of the unit, the battery level, the remote ignition or the general state, until the operational updates that are receiving the model with the passage of time. On the side of the board has a 16-inch touchscreen with Android 7.1 to control several car parameters.

It has an emergency button, 360 ° parking cameras with "bird flight" effect that unifies different images and presents them with a single view as if we were looking to walk from a drone, and proximity sensors and parking assistant, among other functions.

Among the different braking technologies includes the regenerative-which allows to convert a part of the vehicle's kinetic energy by braking in electric power for the battery, one-pedal, airbag, impact protection technology (AIP), LED lights in position and rotation, and bi-xenon lamps and the possibility of projecting the data of the auto instruments on the windshield, so as not to divert the sight of the wheel.

Your lithium batteries can be loaded in six hours with an autonomy of 150 kilometers, although another can be added and doubled at 300 km. The fast load, on the other hand, allows in only 30 minutes to complete 80% of its capacity, but it will only be possible through a super charger. The maximum speed is 110 kilometers per hour.

With respect to the electrical consumption, the account that the company makes is: 100 kilometers to go to the price of a cup of coffee. An economic one, because it calculated forty pesos. It is that, taking into account annual expenses, the cost of operation and maintenance is 10 times less than a conventional vehicle, according to Volt. The efficiency calculated in operating costs is that a traditional car consumes 6600 pesos of naphtha if it circulates 1500 km / month (50 KM per day) but this model only costs 600 pesos. Then, annual savings include $ 72.000 less operating expenses, $ 33,000 less maintenance and $ 22,000 tax incentives: 127.000 pesos in total.

The model weighs 550 kilograms and can transport up to 300 kg of cargo, at a price of 750,000 pesos. The first 100 vehicles will have a bonus in the price of 80,000 pesos. The car will be on the street in April next year. You still need to know more details of the car, see it on the streets and get the test drive out to see what it is your walk. You will have to wait for 2019 to see the strength of the Volt idea and if they reach, in a year, to its objective of 3000 manufactured units.

The company prepares a second model, utility type, called Volt w1, with space for only one passenger, and thought to transport charges, shipments within a city, and so on.

The Silicon Valley of Córdoba

Volt Motors exists as such since 2015, although its engineers and mentors have been working for a long time on different social, economic and environmental impact projects and now take a step further with the 100% electric City Car. Thanks to the license granted by the Ministry of Production of the Nation, they completed their engineering and production development plan of the first units and may be approved, manufactured and patented as of this year.

They work with different innovative partners that offer, for example, digital insurance. "The auto is guaranteed a factory secure with eZurich, which is digital and has different benefits for the user as a substitute, among others. Also with SOS, which proposes a different experience so that users can call mechanical help from a button incorporated, "explains Volt CEO, Daniel Parodi.

The idea Volt Motors is to install, within a period of five years, productive and commercial cells in Buenos Aires and in the regions of Centro, Cuyo, NOA, NEA and Patagonia. Also, expand to border countries, with an initial investment that reaches 200 million pesos and it is estimated that, in the first stage, around 500 direct jobs can be created.

The models that go out will be sold online, without intermediaries. As the business grows, the stores will be restored, as they call them. The first is located in Ciudad Empresaria, a technological pole also established by the CEO of the company, where the Cordovan offices of Intel, McAfee, Hewlett Packard, Mercado Libre and Trane, among others. This Silicon Valley serrano does not deny with Volt Motors. Here is your factory where you will join the models, with national components and imported in equal proportion.

Some local media call their creator, Parodi, the local Elon Musk. It is that this engineer born in the city of Córdoba has been years ago developing local innovation. Among its projects, the manufacture of missiles was highlighted, something truncated, but that was what gave the idea of the electric car to life with the same leit motiv as the space industry: to minimize the weight to maximize the load. This automobile was designed for an urban, light, efficient environment and low maintenance costs.
