The new digital equipment based on mobile programs and applications they occupy a significant place in the world of medicine. Gone is the record of thousands of patients on paper that ended up in the trash. However, developing this software, while improving patient care and satisfaction, speeding up processes and eliminating health bureaucracy, is a challenge for patients and older physicians who do not. “destitute natives” and they still base the query as “old school”.
In the face of this challenge and the commitment to develop new technological tools for the health sector, José Antonio Rueda, from the Internal Medicine Service of Fuenlabrada Hospital in Madrid, spoke. Medical Writing under the table ‘Clinical Governance and New Technologies ” of the 41st National Congress of the Spanish Internal Medicine Association (SEMI).
“The applications and software made for electronic medical records they provide both the patient and the doctor with agility. These Technological equipment come and improve medical care and come to removal of health bureaucracy processes that we have had to face for many years. The challenge is that we see and understand it as support for our work. It does not replace the traditional consultation“said Rueda.
The the most significant obstacles of these technologies, they have old people. “We need to be aware that not all patients are at all candidates for these digital portals. Older people will still need to get everything in writing because they are not mobile consumers or new technologies. For the trader , there are doctors who are not digital natives, who started working on paper, for which we should train them to engage in these developments, “the internist emphasized.
Three digital tools for medical assistance
“‘Patient Portal’ is an application where the patient has all his appointments, tests, and all consultation reports. You can talk to the doctor by chatting, as long as the doctor has been activated before. You can send notifications to the merchant via the service mailbox. The patient with this request has his or her entire journey throughout the consultation ”, submitted to Rueda.
“‘Mobility of Casiopea’ is a mobile application where your patients are admitted to the operating room and emergency room. You can go through plants and as you go you can see the patient’s tests. You can automatically change the treatment, comment to the nurse, request the tests, even if you are in a hurry, the section opens to set the note for that day. It has many functions to request analysis, prescribe treatment, view imaging tests, among other functions ”, says the internist.
“‘Non-Existing Services’, is the software that Casiopea has enabled for the patient. It is done so that the patient does not have to come to hospital. There are patients who may benefit from not going to a health facility physically. In the program you can do the analysis, the doctor is informed of the results, sees them and can talk to the patient through the web dialogue, which is the application conversation. You can call over the phone, you can publish a report that will be read later on your patient portal ”, Rueda reported.
