Conor McGregor, a mixed martial arts fighter from Ireland, announced on Tuesday that he was withdrawing from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) via a message on his Twitter social network.
McGregor said he was retiring from the sport that was officially known as mixed martial arts and wished all former colleagues the best of luck in continuing to compete.
Quick announcement Hey guys, I've decided to withdraw from the sport formally called "Mixed Art Fighting" today.
I wish my old colleagues well in progressing in competition.
I am now joining my former partners on this already retired initiative.
Appropriate Pina Coladas on me fellas!

The announcement is surprising because this week the Irish said he was ready to return and in talks to formalize a new fight in July.
Dublin's fighter, known as The Notorious, was recently approved for six months without an activity in the Octagons and with a fine of $ 50,000 after his battle after he lost the fight against the Khabib. Nommagomedov in UFC 229.
