In an automotive themed sea of April's Fools Day stories (including our own), Toyota really caught our attention. Yes, the US arm of the Japanese automaker made a statement to the press (as well as the image you see above) claiming that a half-toned bakkie Adventure Yaris would be revealed at New York International Auto Show 2019.
Very angry as a reply to "a question that nobody asked" (although we were sure there would be enough South Africa disagree), the imaginary little bakkie is “part-truck, part sedan, but 100 per cent amazing”, says the brand.
A statement to Toyota's press added that a two-seat Yaris Adventure (based on the USA Yaris salon) would be powered by a four-liter four-cylinder petrol engine, and would include a double double frontal suspension and a spring leaf coil-spring rear arrangement.
With tongue red, Toyota claimed that a guarantee would not be "offered for this truck because it would be unthinkable that something would go from its place".
