If you're following anybody CAR the various social media channels of the magazine, you may have seen the WRX STi Diamond Edition Division taking part in the 2019 Shootout Performance. And now the Japanese branch of Japanese automaker has officially disclosed official details about this special edition model.
Having awarded to celebrate thirty years of STi, the Diamond Edition was developed locally by the technical team in Subaru South Africa, with only 30 examples available at a price R799 000 some, or some R28 900 more than the model based on it). Classes are due to start in January 2019.
Subaru SA says it has taken 18 months to develop the car, with the process including "testing durability and significant costumes, oil tests and drainage".
The result is an increase in power (thanks to ECU rotation and installation of performance dispersion) for the 2,5 liter turbocharged engineer engine, which carries 260 kW (up from 221 kW) in this game at 4 500 r / min to 464 Nm (up from 407 Nm) at 4 000 r / min. That does this most powerful WRX STi offered by Subaru in South Africa.
The highest speed continues 255 km / h, but Subaru says that its tests show that the zero to 100 km / h dash has broken to 5,03 seconds (or seventy tens faster standard model "under the same conditions").
The Diamond Edition – which is similar to the standard model, uses six fast-handed gear gear boxes – it also has an engine brace and a Brembo braking system that includes six- pot facing front and two-pot phones in the back.
The special edition also includes sprayers on each of the four wheels, adding about 20mm wide, while the body pack prides itself with blown from yellow "Yellow" yellow (a repeat look on the hull bracelet) and 30-inch black-diamond "Diamond Edition" boxes. Subaru says that the body pack reduces the car effectively – which runs on Y-19 inch design alloys wrapped in 245/35 R19 rubber – from 10 mm in front.
Inside, you will find a numbered plaque as well as a Harman Kardon seven-speaker audio system that is connected to a 7.0-inch touch screen incorporation system incorporating Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Subaru SA will say that all 30 examples will be presented to the owner with a "special owner" certificate certifying the validity of the limited edition of the car. "Look out for the issue in January 2019 CAR magazine (as well as a video or two before that) to see what we think of Diamond Edition …
