Jose Dos Santos stepping down as CEO of Cell C at the end of February, the largest shareholder of the mobile operator Blue Label Telecoms, listed on JSE, said in a statement on Friday.
Blue Label did not say why Dos Santos leaves, but its departure comes a few days before the company reported its interim results for the six months ending on 30 November 2018. CC is expected to report its full year results to the end of December 2018 at the same time.
"Jose will take a role as an advisor to the chair of the C cell board when providing a C C strategy
intention, "said Blue Label in the statement. Cell C is chaired by Kuben Pillay.
"Blue Label board would like to thank Jose for his tireless work over the past six years leading C Cell
by restructuring business and designing its new strategic direction, "he said.
An interim Chief Executive will be announced shortly until a permanent appointment is announced.
"Cell C has a very experienced leadership team that will continue to operate on the company's business plan," said Pillay in a separate statement issued by Cell C. – (c) 2019 NewsCentral Media
